Hoosiers making a difference
IU Corps connects students to meaningful volunteer-focused experiences, events, internships, courses, and research opportunities. The network of students, campus stakeholders, and community partners that IU Corps has created strives to create positive social change in Bloomington and beyond.
Students can get involved and help the community by joining Volunteer Corps, signing up for Volunteer Central, and working with local non-profits on the Student Agile Response Team (START).

Carnegie Community Engagement Classification
IU Corps uses the Carnegie Foundation's Elective Classification for Community Engagement:
“The purpose of community engagement is the partnership of college and university knowledge and resources with those of the public and private sectors to enrich scholarship, research, and creative activity; enhance curriculum, teaching, and learning: prepare educated, engaged citizens; strengthen democratic values and civic responsibility; address critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good."
IU Bloomington holds a 2020 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification endorsement.
